Eating disorders are considered to be amongst the most difficult clinical presentations to treat.  Whether struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder or chronic issues with weight, individuals compelled to unconsciously mis-use food are frequently misunderstood, and oftentimes mislabeled, as “treatment resistant.”

In this dynamic, HOPE-filled two-day workshop, eating disorder and complex trauma expert, Dr. Julie T. Anné Zeig, takes participants on a poignant educational journey into the inner world of those who struggle with disordered eating, and perhaps more significantly, what created it.

In a safe, intimate and interactive learning environment, Dr. Julie provides foundational information on eating disorders as well as lesser known clinical features to ensure that you are not missing or misdiagnosing clients. Additionally, participants are introduced to an innovative and expanded conceptual lens that emphasizes the imperative interwoven role that unresolved complex trauma plays in the creation and proliferation of disordered eating.

Toward this goal, participants will be introduced to Dr. Julie’s Strategic - Attachment Repair Therapy (S - ART) as a foundation for her subsequent FULL recovery model of eating disorder treatment.

This engaging workshop utilizes a lecture, live demonstration and practice model of teaching.  By the end of the workshop, participants will have learned to identify even subclinical eating disorders, to differentiate anorexia from other diagnoses such as Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), and to go beyond our current “most efficacious” form of eating disorder treatment, CBT, which is merely 50% effective.
